I tend to wear a lot of rings, so thought attempting to design some myself would be a fun project.

I often find a lot of rings have a similar style - A silver or gold band with a gemstone / acrylic / resin piece set into the top, as the show piece. 

Following this idea, I wanted to design a 'Reverse Ring', the idea being that we would have a ring made from the very material that is usually set into ring for display. 

I attempted to design a 3D model in Blender (this was my first time using it in about a decade) with a 2D watercolour sketch as reference. I think it turned out quite nice, but the bands thickness needed to be adjusted.

I would've liked to have a similar texture to transparent green marble, for the band, but the pitted gold effect worked quite nicely.
